Smarties Cookies

My kids have been asking me several times to bake Smarties Cookies, unfortunately I never had a chance to bake it for them. To redeem myself from a long forgotten promise, I took my kids shopping to Bulk Barn to buy some Smarties.

I love Bulk Barn and the selection they offer. Every time I visit the store I end up walking out with handful of item that was initially not on my shopping list. This time was not any exception. After almost an hour we left the store buying of course with some Smarites and a bagful of other items for my next inspired ideas. Continue reading →

Local Kid Friendly Campsites in BC

When planning Camping trips,  kids friendly campsites becomes the first priority to look for.

This will be the fifth year camping with my family.  I would not yet call myself an experienced camper, but somewhat seasoned. Growing up, my parents were never into anything outdoorsy, the most outdoor involvement we were exposed to was a simple picnic with family and friends, that is all! Therefore, going camping was totally out of my element. Continue reading →

Hair Accessories

Summer is a season for celebration. I love summer, not so much for the heat, but for the beautiful outdoor living, dazzling flowers and the ability to dress up light for a change. It is one of my most favourite seasons of the year.

Summer is usually the time to explore different looks and hairstyles whether it is for fun or for an ocasion. Just recently my husband’s cousin got married. Both my kids were part of bridal party. My son the ring bearer and my daughter the flower girl. Continue reading →

The Perfect Oatmeal Breakfast

There is nothing more wonderful then having a perfectly cooked oatmeal in a cup!

I usually buy one box of instant oatmeal (I love peach flavour the most) and mix it with a bag of regular oats. By doing so you get a perfect blend of flavour each time. Continue reading →

How to Bake Cream Rolls Shells

Cream rolls are universal. The oversized flaky shell, buttery cream filling, and sugar-dusted top, a taste familiar to many. As a child I remember these extremely over sized cream rolls, my mom would buy from the bakery that was close to our house. I clearly recall asking my mom each time if I could have two, and her answer was always, “No”. So disappointing!   As a child I never understood?… But as a mother I know now why! Continue reading →

Decorating and Colouring Beautiful Easter Eggs

Every year when Easter comes around, I love colouring and decorating eggs.  My kids and I have lots of fun creating all sorts of designs and we basically go crazy and overboard with glue and glitter!

In some countries where the New Year is celebrated on the first day of Spring, colouring eggs, throwing egg fights, and buying cute yellow chicks for good luck are some common customs amongst many others. Continue reading →
